Mr. R.N.Tiwari, the principal

Central School for Tibetans, Cauvery Valley Project (CVP), Bylakuppe was established in 1971 by Mysore Rehabilitation and Development Agency (MYRADA) as a Primary School. It comes under the CTSA, Ministry of Human Resource Development (Dept. of School Education) Govt. of India. Located at about 90 km. from Mysore city in Karnataka State, the School caters Education to the children of settlers residing at Dicky Larose Tibetan Settlement (TDL). Later the school was taken over by the CTSA, Delhi and thereafter, it became a branch of CST Bylakuppe.

In 1986, it was upgraded to middle level and was made an independent School. It was further upgraded to Secondary School in 1990. Now, the school has on roll 217 students and 24 teaching and non-teaching staff. The school is recognized and affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi with affiliation no 890005/10/103-114-11.5.2010/13.5.2010 and affiliation is extended till 31.3.2015.

Over the years, the school has been constantly achieving centum academic results in all the classes I-X and thus bringing kudos and glory to it time and again. The school also conducts activities under Bharat Scouts & Guides, Games & Sports, and M/D as per CCA calendar. Excursions, outings, campings and joy- trips are routine activities. For morning assembly activities and for best clean class there are rolling trophies for motivating the children. The children also participate in the CBSE sports, Games and sports, South - Zone and Central - Zone Exhibitions in Maths, Science and Social- Science and bring laurels for the school. Besides, the school focuses on preserving and promoting the rich Tibetan Cultural Heritage and develop Indianness as well for maintaining harmony, peace and brotherhood. The School celebrates all the National festivals with great joy, grandeur and splendour, keeping in view the solemnity and sanctity of the occasions.

Activities are being organised easily because of excellent infra-structural facilities viz science-lab, comp. lab for ICT,sports - room, M/D room, resource- centre, MLL, art-room, social- science room, SUPW rooms (for craft and tailoring) and library etc. The School maintains good rapport with the community members. The Settlement Officer, the PTA members and parents are deeply involved in the welfare programme of the School.

Overall, the School has exalted status in the community and among the local settlers. It also gets appreciation from the Head Quarters and eminent visitors for its systematic work and excellent work culture.
